The reach of Saturday’s tragedy in Stillwater travels across Oklahoma and to many other places around the U.S.  It also struck locally, as a 7-year-old second grader from Skiatook Elementary School was life flighted from Saturday’s Oklahoma State University homecoming parade.  Madison Atwell was supposed to go to her first OSU game after the parade but a car driven into the crowd attending the parade, took the lives of four and injured at least 30 others.

Police say the car driven by 25-year-old Adacia Chambers hit an unoccupied police motorcycle, sending the pieces into the crowd.  The car continued forward, causing destruction, before hitting a traffic light.  Police arrested Chambers and charged her with DUI.

The names of two of the fatally injured have been released.  Newson6 is reporting that the university confirmed that Nikita Nakal, of Mumbai, India, was an MBA student at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.  Another victim is identified as two-year-old Nash Lucas.  The toddler was critically injured and died at the hospital.  Facebook photo of Madison Atwell
