Dewey police have confirmed the identity of the young child found near a pond in the Lakeview Trailer Park on Monday. Sergeant Tim Stringer confirmed that the two-year-old girl is Janessa Dawn Granger. Authorities were notified just after 8 o'clock Monday morning about the small child being found. The girl was taken to the hospital. Life-saving techniques eventually failed and the child died.  Stringer said they are still waiting for cause of death information from the medical examiner and that the investigation continues.
