Bartlesville School Board Bond Issue

The Bartlesville Board of Education held a special meeting today at Noon to discuss a bond issue for August 23, 2016. Incoming superintendent, Chuck McCauley led the discussion with a 32-page slideshow on why the school district needs to approve the bond and what it would be used for. Among the top reasons was teacher retention. Just last year, Bartlesville lost 21 teachers, 3 administrators, and 15 other district losses. With this loss, class sizes will increase to meet the demand.
The bond, if approved, would go towards classroom instruction, activities like fine arts and athletics, transportation, maintenance, elementary schools, and Madison and Central middle school.
The bond election will be held on August 23, 2016.
