Summer is nearly over for students in the Bartlesville School System.  Superintendent Chuck McCauley says teachers have been getting ready to greet students Thursday morning.

The Bartlesville School Board delayed the start of school until Thursday morning in order to make sure the newly-renovated Central Middle School would be ready for students.  McCauley reminds drivers that the first day of school will be a little bit of a traffic disruption as parents drop their students off at school.

Bartlesville's elementary schools start at 8:45, middle schools start at 8:15 and the high school starts at 7:45.  McCauley says Thursday will be the first day since May you will have to contend with school busses in the morning.  He says traffic on the first day of school will probably be more congested than most other school days as parents drop their students off for the first day of classes.
