72-year-old Mahendra Parekh of Tulsa entered a guilty plea to Possession of Cocaine. Parekh is the owner of the Tonight Inn and Suites located at 8333 East Admiral, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Mahendra’s prosecution resulted from an eight-month long joint investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Tulsa Police Department.  The investigation culminated in a search warrant executed at the Tonight Inn and Suites on July 29, 2015.  The investigation resulted in the prosecution of twelve other individuals who were alleged to have been involved in the illegal distribution of crack cocaine from the Tonight Inn and Suites.

Danny C. Williams, Sr., United States Attorney for the Northern District says, “Parekh’s criminal conduct was driven by greed which motivated him to allow mid-level and street-level drug distributors’ exclusive occupancy of the motel for drug trafficking purposes.”

Parekh entered a guilty plea pursuant to a plea agreement with the United States.  As part of the terms of the plea agreement, Parekh agreed to forfeit ownership of the Tonight Inn and Suites because the motel was used to facilitate the distribution of crack cocaine.
