The Bartlesville boy's and girl's basketball teams began play in the Bixby Tournament on Thursday afternoon. 

The Bruin boys fell to East Central, 59-46. The Lady Bruins won their third straight, beating Ponca City, 51-36. 

Both teams play again on Friday for game number two. The Bruins play at 11:30 AM against Deer Creek in the consolation bracket. Meanwhile the Lady Bruins will take on Owasso at 4:00 PM in the semifinals.
