Charlie Taraboletti
Truity Credit Union has taken steps to help local teachers start the school year in a good way. Credit Union officials say they are saying "thank you" in a tangible way to the people who are building the next generation of leaders.
Community Outreach Specialist at Truity, Sara Freeman says Truity kicked off it's Thank a Teacher campaign this week at Bartlesville Public School System's Back to School event when they gave every teacher 50 dollars cash.
Freeman says the announcement got quite a reaction.
Several businesses have already stepped forward to give teachers discounts on their products and services. According to Freeman, Truity has set aside 200 thousand dollars for the two-year campaign.
Freeman encourages you to post your "thank you" comments to social media using the hashtag #ThankATeacher.
