Jennifer Landers, a kindergarten teacher at Hoover Elementary School, was named a Bartlesville Public School District’s Teacher of the Month by Arvest Bank and Oakley Chevrolet Buick.

Ms. Landers was presented a plaque and a $300 check by  Arvest Bank Marketing Manager, Annah Fischer, and owner of Oakley Chevrolet Buick, David Oakley Jr.

Ms. Landers has 12 years of classroom teaching experience. She taught prekindergarten for ten years and is in her second year of teaching kindergarten.

Ms. Landers feels her students must feel loved, safe, and respected in order to achieve his or her highest potential. Her goal is for her students to never feel afraid to make mistakes but to learn from them. She also strives to accommodate different levels of learning with hands-on teaching and frequent monitoring and assessing.

Ms. Landers shows her love for children and the community through her church as well. She is an active member of Christ Community Church and has volunteered in the kids’ church, in the nursery, and occasionally serves dinners to the homeless families that visit her church.
