Bruins Look Good in Scrimmage

No Zero Week game for Bartlesville High, but the Bruins did get some game-like action on Thursday evening in a scrimmage against East Central and Tulsa Edison.
Bartlesville looked improved from a week ago against Coweta.
The Bruins outscored both opponents during their respective mini games. Tailback DeAndre Young was once again the standout on offense. He had a 37-yard touchdown that sparked that side of the football. The Bruin defense did not give up a first down in the affair. Bartlesville head coach Lee Blankenship talks about that side of the ball.
At quarterback, both Noah Sunday and Ben Winters had their moments. Sunday ran the offense effectively after BHS struggled early on.
Winters then settled a bit and hit two long pass plays to Shane Simpson, one for 42-yards and a touchdown. Another for 40-yards that set BHS up inside the East Central red zone. It looks like Bartlesville will have two effective options as a signal caller.
The Bruins will open up the 2018 season at Claremore a week from tonight.
