No. 1 Oklahoma Wesleyan has a chance to clinch the regular season title in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference with a road trip to Ottawa University on Wednesday evening. The Eagles haven’t won a conference title since 2011 when they were a member of the Midlands Conference.

OKWU was won ten consecutive games entering the matchup with the Braves. Eagles’ assistant coach Blake Zinck says winning the conference is a big deal but the team is still focused on the day-to-day.

OKWU defeated Ottawa at home 83-66 in a December meeting. A win would also mean the Eagles finish the regular season without a road loss.

The Lady Eagles currently sit in fifth place in the KCAC with two regular season games remaining. OKWU can’t improve its seeding for the upcoming conference tournament, but losses could hinder it. Just one game separates them and eighth-place Avila.

The doubleheader is set for 6 p.m. from Ottawa, Kansas. Radio coverage can be heard on Sportstalk 1500 AM—99.1 FM KPGM.
