The city of Pawhuska has seen a lot of growth in recent years. There have also been more people driving cars with alternative fuel in recent years. That is why the city of Pawhuska has decided to apply for a level two commercial grant that will be a charging station to fuel such cars.

Sean West of the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority explains why this makes so much sense for the city.

The charging station will be set up downtown within walking distances of many downtown shops and businesses. West says all electrical vehicles should be able to use the charging station and adds that he is beginning to work on other grants in surrounding towns. There have been multiple stations installed throughout the state.

The grant is for $3.1 million. It is a 20 percent matching grant, meaning the city of Pawhuska will have to match 20 percent of the funds.
