Former Bartlesville restaurateur, Alfredo Herrera died on Wednesday at the age of 74.  He opened his first restaurant at the age of 20.

Herrera later sold that business and along with three friends, decided to move to Chicago to work in the construction trades.   On the way, the car he was driving broke down in Tulsa across from a Kentucky Fried Chicken at 41st and Memorial in Tulsa.

Herrera was managing the Bartlesville KFC when he met and married his wife, Donna in 1975.  His brother, Esteban joined the franchise as a partner four years later.  At one time they owned and operated eight KFC locations and six Alfredo's restaurants together including the Alfredo's on Frank Phillips in Bartlesville..

Herrera was known locally for helping people whenever he could.  One of his accomplishments was being able to provide a Thanksgiving feast to those who may not have otherwise had one. He was able to do that for many years at the Alfredo's location in Bartlesville.

Funeral services will be held for Mr. Herrera will be held Monday morning at 10 o'clock at the Happy Hill Church in Ramona,
