The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s office received a 911 call around 6:15 Sunday evening about a shooting on Road 26 near Peru, Kansas. Deputies responded with Sedan EMS and discovered a gunshot victim that was transported to Sedan City Hospital. The victim, 46-year-old Joe Corman of Peru, was pronounced deceased upon arrival at the hospital.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation was contacted for assistance around 6:30 p.m.  Deputies would locate and arrest a suspect a short time later at his home. The suspect is 43-year-old Travis W.
