Commissioners Focus on Fair Grounds, Reports

The Washington County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday morning and accepted a $45 grant to start their meeting. The Rural Economic Action Plan funding will go towards a new heating and air conditioning system at the Washington County Fair Grounds. A resolution creating a cash fund for the grant was accepted next by the commissioners.

 

A report from the Washington County Sheriff Office's Board of Prisoners for the Month of January followed. Commissioner Mike Dunlap was pleased with the numbers in the report. Inmate head counts remain low and the medical and food supplies remain in abundance.

 

The Washington County Board of Commissioners meeting ended with the approval of the treasurer’s request to allocate the county’s Alcoholic Beverage Tax. The total amount allocated was $19,990.
