Winter weather could affect our area for the third straight week. While many people have ways to determine the severity of winter weather, Washington County Commissioner Mitch Antle has started to use the National Weather Service's Decisions Support Page. Antle says the Washington County Emergency Management Team uses the page themselves.

The page uses little button called "chiclets" and they come in several colors. Antle sats those colors are red, green and yellow with red being the most severe color.

He would add that he doesn't believe ice will be a major issue with this storm. Wind shouldn't be a factor either. Snow is the only type of precipitation that appears to have the most red chiclets in the approaching storm. Of course, weather is weather and anything could happen. We will have more for you in terms of weather as the winter conditions draw closer.
