Bid alternates and unit price items were discussed at the Tower Green Design Committee meeting on Wednesday in Bartlesville City Hall. Those bid alternates and unit price items for the Tower Center at Unity Square Project were presented by Scott Ambler with Ambler Architects.

Water Utilities Director Terry Lauritsen explained during the meeting that the City of Bartlesville has intentions to negotiate a guaranteed maximum price with Jonesplan Construction by Friday, March 29th. Seeing that price will help the City see if they can pull funds from other sources.

Tower Green Design Committee Co-Chair Jim Curd explained this further. He said everyone is preparing the Committee for the realization that they may not come in on budget for the Tower Center for Unity Square Project. Preliminary numbers show that they will be somewhat over budget. Curd said the Committee will eventually have to ability to pick and choose which items in the project they can cut so they can make budget.

The Tower Green Design Committee tabled the action to recommend final construction plans to the Bartlesville City Council until Jonesplan could give guaranteed maximum price. That included specifying bid alternate and unit price items. The Tower Green Design Committee will meet again on Wednesday, April 3rd at noon in Bartlesville City Hall.
