Daniel Lee Hines is in custody for his alleged involvement in a homicide investigation after a body was found south of Ramona in Washington County on Tuesday.

The victim in the case is Robert D. Brown.

According to Washington County Undersheriff Jon Copeland, deputies received a call for service regarding a suspicious incident. It was reported to deputies there was a concern which stemmed from a verbal altercation between Hines and Brown within the last few days.  Deputies obtained information which led them to a residence located on W 3700 County Road, which is located in rural Washington County, south of the Town of Ramona

Once at the residence, deputies did locate Brown dead at the scene and secured the scene for investigators. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation was called in to assist in processing the scene while WCSO investigators began sorting through information received by deputies and talking to different people believed to have information concerning the decedent.

Hines coincidentally had an outstanding arrest warrant for an unrelated incident. An attempt to locate Hines was sent out to NE Oklahoma law enforcement agencies at approximately 8:00 pm.

Around midnight Wednesday morning, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol located a Ford F-150 with Hines inside. A short pursuit ensued resulting in Hines being taken into custody on the outstanding Washington County arrest warrant as well as charges from OHP. Hines faces charges in Mayes County as well.

We will have more information as it becomes available.
