Accident Between Dewey, Copan Produces Minor Injuries

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, all involved in a three car accident on Highway 75 between Dewey and Copan at County Road 1100 are in fair condition.

The collision occurred just prior to 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The OHP has reported that a 2014 Dodge driven by John Yates, age 50, struck the back of a 2004 Chevrolet driven by Desiree Harvey, age 45, which ran into a 2001 Chevy driven by Ryan Webster, age 60, who was trying to turn onto County Road 1100.

The Dodge driven by Yates is then said to have departed the roadway before rolling onto its top. Emergency personnel from several different agencies responded to the three vehicle accident.

Yates and his passengers – Jane Bryan, age 84, and Tanya Yates, age 57, – were pinned for 34 minutes before being freed by the Copan Fire Department. Bryan and Tanya Yates were flown by helicopter to the Saint John Medical Center in Tulsa for their injuries and are listed in fair condition. Mr. Yates has been released from the Jane Phillips Medical Center with head and trunk internal injuries.

Drivers Harvey and Webster, did not sustain injuries. Their passengers - William Hairgrove (20), Savannah Secondine (19), Jamie Powell (48) did not sustain injuries.
