The Oklahoma Wesleyan women’s basketball got off to stellar start in the season’s opening weekend. The Lady Eagles defeated Bellevue University 77-65 on Friday before knocking off Kansas Christian College, 91-39 on Saturday. Despite averaging 84 points per contest, head coach Grace Hadley wants to see more consistency for the Lady Eagles offense.

Brittan Garrett, a sophomore from Claremore led the scoring charge. Garrett tallied 14 points in each of the first two games of the season.

OKWU now awaits the weekend when it will head to the McPherson Classic to play its final two non-conference games. The Lady Eagles will then have 11 days off before opening Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Nov 13 at Ottawa.

The No. 7 Eagle men also won in their opener, 107-40 over Calvary. Freshman Kaleb Stokes and Sophomore Brooks Haddock each tallied 18 points. The Eagles next play Central Christian on Friday.
