Washington County Emergency Management's Director, Kary Cox, presented an Emergency Management Performance Grant contractual agreement on Monday morning.

This presentation took place at the Washington County Commissioners meeting. Cox said the agreement was between Washington County Emergency Management and Oklahoma Emergency Management. He said the WCEM has a $45,000 award that they use for operations at the Emergency Operation Center located in Bartlesville.

One significant change in the contract was a training requirement. All paid staff members – whether full time or part time – were required to complete a list of training options because training curriculum has been updated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency over the years.

Cox said they completed the training last summer after anticipating the changes. He said minor changes in the contract included exercise requirement. Previously, three or four exercises were required. Cox said they only had to do two exercises of any type with one being a full scale exercise.

The Emergency Management Performance Grant contractual agreement between Washington County Emergency Management and Oklahoma Emergency Management was approved by the Commissioners. This is for the 2020 Federal Fiscal Year.
