Oologah Gets Field Kindley Football Coach

It is a little late in the game, but Oologah has a new head football coach entering 2020, and it is from another area high school just across the state line.
Field Kindley head coach Darrin Wegner is leaving Coffeyville after four seasons to become the Oologah High School skipper.
Our news partners at KGGFRadio.com reported that Wegner resigned at the most recent Coffeyville School Board meeting in order to take the Oologah job.
Wegner replaces now former Oologah head coach Chad Weeks, who had been the Mustangs coach for nearly two years.
Weeks was hired internally as interim head coach at Oologah in early September of 2018. This was after Chase Kime only coached for a few weeks before getting fired.
This is now the third Oologah head football coach since the resignation of nine-year coaching veteran Brandon Craig following the 2017 season. Craig left to become the head coach in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, a job he still holds.
Wegner went 15-22 in his four seasons as head coach at Coffeyville. We will have more on that move in the coming days.
