A Bartlesville High linebacker picked up another NCAA Division II offer on Wednesday.

Rocky Shuman announced on twitter that he was offered a scholarship to attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University. We reported earlier this year that Shuman had been offered by the University of Central Oklahoma and Southwest Baptist.

The 6-2, 205 LB linebacker was one of the top tacklers on the Bruins defense with 73 last season. He also included 16 tackles for loss with a sprinkling of sacks and passes defended, as well.

Bartlesville head football coach Jason Sport says that Shuman’s measurables make him a likely candidate to pick up more offers as he enters his senior season this fall.

Sport mentioned that most colleges are in a holding pattern with recruiting because of the coronavirus. College coaches are still not permitted to do in-person recruiting at the NCAA level through July 31.

Sport says offers will probably pick up a bit once coaches can get back to meeting with players and evaluating them during practices and workouts.

Former Bruin quarterback Ben Winters signed with SWOSU and will be a freshman in Weatherford this fall.
