Bruins Host Scrimmage Thursday

No game this weekend for the Bartlesville High football team, but the Bruins will be in action on Thursday night for a scrimmage. BHS is going to host East Central and Coweta for a round robin scrimmage at the newly renovated Custer Stadium.
This will be the final tune up for Bartlesville before its season opener against Claremore a week from tomorrow.
Bartlesville quarterback hopeful Paxton Bradford has continued to work toward earning the starting job this fall camp. He showed his ability to run and throw during Bartlesville’s scrimmage against Putnam City last week. No spring or summer ball for the Bruins, so they had been without team activities for about seven months before practices began earlier in August
Bradford says the abbreviated offseason has thrown him into the fire a bit during fall camp.
Bradford and Harrison Clark split reps with the No. 1 offense during last week’s scrimmage, and both had moments good and bad. Although Bradford has not played at the varsity level at QB, he has plenty of varsity experience at the defensive back position over the past few years, which he says should help him lead the team.
Bartlesville, East Central and Coweta on Thursday from Custer, the varsity teams should start just after 6:00 PM.
We will have coverage tomorrow as well.
