The Arvest Foundation recently announced a $5,000 contribution to Dewey Public Schools.

Arvest commercial banker Chris Revard presented the check to Vince Vincent, Dewey Public Schools superintendent.

“We are happy to present this donation on behalf of the Arvest Foundation to help Dewey Public Schools during this challenging year,” said Revard. “We support their efforts to provide a clean and safe environment for their students and staff.”

When the pandemic brought about changes in procedures, Dewey Public Schools met the challenge with additional cleaning and sanitizing protocol. With this came added costs in cleaning and sanitizing supplies. The funds from the Arvest Foundation contribution help the school district in their efforts.

"It's an understatement to say that this school year has been extremely challenging. The planning and response to creating a 'normal' learning environment during a pandemic certainly comes at a cost,” said Vincent. “As always, the Arvest Foundation is there to help fill in the gaps. We are forever grateful and proud of our partnership with them and this most recent support of Dewey Public Schools is an example of their shining service to our communities."

The mission of the Dewey Public Schools is to create a safe and flexible learning environment that develops the whole student. They focus on skills that are essential for fostering a student-centered learning environment, providing all students the opportunity to acquire the needed skills for successful living and lifelong learning.

The Arvest Foundation seeks to provide funding to grantees who are actively working to create positive change for others. Major areas of focus include: K-12 education, economic development, and enhancing the quality of life throughout the Arvest footprint.
