Nowata County Emergency Management Director Laurie Summers had some breaking and welcome news during Tuesday morning’s Nowata County Commissioners meeting.

Nowata residents should except to have a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for the first time at some point next week.

Summers said the county is at the very top of next week’s list.

There are no specific details, such as a when an online registration might be available for the Nowata POD or how many slots there might be. Summers says somewhere between 300 and 600 would be in line with previous clinics.

The clinic will be held at the Community Room across from the Will Rogers Clinic on the south side of Nowata.

Summers says you should expect to be there about an hour from start to finish. If you are unable to get an appointment this time around, Summers says you should expect future clinics, as well.

Links to the online registration will be posted as soon as they are available on our website at BartlesvilleRadio.com.

If you are already registered through the COVID-19 Vaccination Appointment Portal, check back for Nowata County appointments, as they should become available to schedule sometime on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Current priority groups that are eligible for vaccine appointments as part of Phase 2 of the vaccine distribution plan are:

  • Healthcare workers including expanded healthcare worker groups such as allied health fields and general outpatient health service (i.e. behavioral health, dentists)
  • First responders
  • Oklahomans age 65+
