Appearing on COMMUNITY CONNECTION Wednesday, Bartlesville Superintendent of Schools Chuck McCauley talked about the idea of a possible new school bond issue.

McCauley said the idea needs more discussion and input, but some of the things it might pay for, if approved by the board and later passed by voters, could include the possible expansion of the new ag building and ag education program to have a place for animals to be used for study. Other possible projects include, text books, technology upgrades, safety features and transportation needs.

That discussion should likely get underway in February.

McCauley announced that later today, the Bartlesville Public Schools Board of Education will consider and possibly vote to appoint new board member Kinder Shamhart to the unexpired term for District 5 of the Board on Monday evening.

Shamhart would take over for Tyler Vaclaw, who recently moved out of the district.

The Board will meet at the Bartlesville High School Fine Arts Center located at 1700 Hillcrest Drive starting at 5:30 p.m.
