Rates of COVID-19 Cases and Deaths Dropping

The increases in the average numbers of new coronavirus cases and deaths attributed to the illness caused by the virus are declining.

Data from Johns Hopkins University on Sunday shows the rolling average of new cases during the past two weeks has decreased by 47.2%, from 676 to 357 per day. The Johns Hopkins data also shows the daily number of deaths fell from 22 to 12.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health has reported totals of 434,491 cases since the pandemic began and 7,673 COVID-19 deaths, based on death certificates submitted to the federal Centers for Disease Control.
