The Nowata County Commissioners heard an update on COVID-19 vaccines from Emergency Management director Laurie Summers at Monday morning’s meeting. Summers alerted the board that the Oklahoma State Department of Health will no longer be holding a pod in Nowata to administer COVID-19 vaccines.

Summers said the state is allocating resources to bigger communities. Only 18 people showed up to the last Nowata pod. Large vaccines pods are expected to be held in the Tulsa area in the near future if Nowata County residents are in need.

According to the latest OSDH numbers Nowata County is listing 19 active COVID-19 cases.
