Oklahoma Wesleyan men’s soccer will play for a national championship on Monday night.

The Eagles won in their semifinal contest on Saturday, and it wasn’t super close - They beat Columbia College out of Missouri, 3-0 in order to advance to the NAIA Tournament Finals on Monday evening.

Even with all the success the Eagles have had over the past 10 years, this will be the first time OKWU has ever played for a championship. The three-goal advantage in the National Semifinal was the largest margin of victory for any team in seven years in the final four of the NAIA Tournament.

Pol Mur, Stefan Lukic and Luka Lukic all scored the goals for Wesleyan. OKWU moves on to face Missouri Valley for the title on Monday night, a 6:00 PM kick from Columbia County, Georgia.

Missouri Valley is the gold standard in NAIA soccer, they’ve been to the title game three of the last four years.

Wesleyan really challenged itself with its non-conference schedule in hopes to prepare for moments like the one on Monday. Head coach Jamie Peterson talks about the Eagles schedule.

Missouri Valley is the No. 4 seed in the event. They topped the No. 1 seed in Central Methodist 4-2 in the other semifinal game on Saturday to advance to the title round.

The OKWU men are 21-2 on the season.
