Rate adjustments for City of Bartlesville utility customers went into effect July 1 and will be reflected on the July utility bill.

Utility bills are mailed in four cycles, with the first of the July cycle being mailed July 8. The flyer below will be in your next utility bill.

In a statement, Utility Billing Supervisor Tammy Hudgens said:

"There are approximately 16,000 utility customers in Bartlesville, so utility bills are mailed in four cycles of 4,000. The first 4,000 account customers in the July cycle should receive their bill shortly after July 8."

The July bill will reflect sanitation rates and water and wastewater usage at the old rates and the new rates, she said.

"This can be confusing, as it leads some people think they're being double-charged, Hudgens said, "It's not a double-charge but rather a reflection of their usage at both rates, before and after the rates went into effect."

The rate adjustments were implemented with approval of the 2021-22 Fiscal Year Budget and are necessary to fund upcoming infrastructure needs to meet state and federal requirements. For more information, see cityofbartlesville.org.
