Nowata High School announced the hiring of a new baseball and softball coach on Monday afternoon. Owasso-native Josh Whisler was introduced through the school’s social media channels. Whisler has experience in the professional ranks of baseball after graduating from Pittsburg State in 2018. He also spent time at Wichita State and Fort Scott Community College during his playing career.

Whisler takes over for Andy Fox, who accepted a coaching position at Caney Valley earlier this month. The Nowata softball and baseball teams finished under .500 last season. We have more the new hire for the Ironmen in the days to come.
