Man Protests Candidate's Run for District Attorney

A man is running in protest of a candidate's run for Washington County District Attorney.
Darrell Brodrick ran in front of the Washington County Courthouse on Monday morning to protest Washington County Assistant District Attorney Will Drake's recent announcement to run for District Attorney. Brodrick says he is protesting Drake for DA because he is dishonest. He says his dishonesty is not gossip or hearsay, it is a fact.
Brodrick tells Bartlesville Radio that he tried getting public records when Drake told him that he would need an attorney to do so. He says he began questioning why Drake would lie to him like he was a "stupid moron."
Current DA Kevin Buchanan will not be running for re-election in 2022, leaving the door open for candidates such as Drake, who has a long tenure as Assistant DA in Washington County.
Salinda Hayes arrived at the courthouse in support of Brodrick. Hayes says they believe that Drake is dishonest. She says Drake violates the constitutional rights of Washington County's citizens on a regular basis.
Hayes has been battling a case since January 2021. Brodrick says his case was dismissed without cause in September 2020 because he was found innocent. He says he was falsely imprisoned for weeks in Washington County after it took three court appearances and $1,500 to find out that he had never had a felony conviction and could possess his deceased uncle's firearms. He says he had every right to own the guns.
Brodrick says he will keep running until the race is done.
