A talented group of Bartlesville area youth are set to perform at Universal Studios and Walt Disney World.

Everett Music Studio Owner and vocal instructor D'Lynn Everett says this group of 15 students from Bartlesville, Caney, Pawhuska and Skiatook will perform during Thanksgiving Break, Nov. 20 through Nov. 23, in Universal's CityWalk Lagoon Stage, and at Disney's Waterside Stage for their 50th anniversary. She says this will be an excellent opportunity for growth for her students.

Not only are the girls getting to perform at Disney and Universal, but they are participating in the opportunity to do two workshops while they are at the theme parks. These workshops will give the girls the chance to learn some DANCE! at Universal and perform a portion of FROZEN at the Disney Musical Theater Workshop on stage while on property.

Everett says this is a wonderful opportunity for the students. She says this is their first time performing at Universal Studios and attending one of their workshops, but they have performed three other times at Walt Disney World Florida.

In the past, everyone had a wonderful experience and they learned so much. After a year and a half of restricted lessons and performance due to Covid 19, Everett says she is hoping for huge growth to occur for all the students.

Everett creates a new show each trip specific to the talent that is auditioned and commits to attend.  The students – who range in age from 6 to 17 – rehearsed together for countless hours, with focused time on weeknights and weekends to make this show fantastic.

"The pressure was definitely on, because of the downtime of learning due to Covid-19 but these girls are talented and learn quickly," Everett said. "We had to change the set several times due to the Disney requirements and these girls prevailed through." The girls will sing medleys from artists like The Bee Gees, BTS, ABBA, The Spice Girls, Los Bobos, and The Beatles.

Students pictured above are: Hunter Sizemore, CarrieAnn Easky, Kate Conrad, Madison Harmon, Josie Turner, Sandy Krepps, Victoria Sanchez, Brooklynn Stevens, Carli Sturgeon (missing in photo), Josie McIver, Mishika Agrawal, Marisa Collins, Sophia Wilson, Penny Czerniewski, and Anuprita Dutta.

Everett knows what it is like to perform at Disney World. She sang in an eight-member a capella group called the Voices of Liberty that was staged in Epcot's American Adventure Dome. She performed there from 1989 to 1997.

D'Lynn Everett has owned her studio since 2007 after moving to Bartlesville from Florida where she owned and operated a talent agency. Everett Music Studio is open to the public and there are slots available now for people of any age to become a student. The studio offers piano, ukulele, guitar, clarinet, and vocal lessons ranging from the price of $23 per half hour and $45 for a full hour.
