The Tulsa World held its annual All-World banquet on Tuesday night, honoring athletes from throughout Oklahoma. Two Bartlesville High athletes took down major honors.

Lady Bruins tennis star Maddie Shelley was named girls tennis player of the year. Meanwhile the girl’s swimming athlete of the year went to Aiden Howze of Bartlesville High, as well.

Shelley took second individually at 6A state this past spring, falling in the title match. Shelley had been undefeated on the year. She is going to continue her tennis career at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas.

Meanwhile Howze helped the BHS girls to a third place finish at 6A State earlier this year. She swam with Bartlesville her freshman year before taking two years off for homeschooling, then returned for her senior campaign.

Howze was the individual state champion in the girl’s 200 IM and 100 breaststroke this past winter. She is going to continue her career at the University of Kansas.
