In the nearly 100-year history of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations, there has never been a woman appointed to the highest authority at the agency...until now.

In an unanimous vote that occurred last week, the OSBI made a momentous and historical decision to appoint Angela Spurlock as the Director of the agency after former director Ricky Adams announced his retirement earlier this year. Spurlock has been serving as the Interim Director of the agency. Spurlock has 29 years of law enforcement service in a variety of agencies and locations with the last 20 f them at the OSBI.

In a press release announcing the appointment, Spurlock said she is proud to continue the excellent leadership standards that were established by Ricky Adams and that have improved the reputation of OSBI.
