Nowata County Free Fair Returns on Wednesday
The Nowata County Free Fair kicks off officially this week on Wednesday with a jam-packed schedule that lasts through Sunday, Sep. 17. Wednesday starts with the indoor entry check-ins. Thursday officially begins the festivities as there will be judging for floral exhibits and indoor entries starting at 9 am.
A bake auction, rabbit, duck and poultry show, calf-fry dinner, beef check-in, stick horse rodeo and bucket calves will round out Thursday’s schedule starting with the bake auction at 5:30 pm. Friday will be more laid back with a 4-H petting farm from 9 am – 2 pm and then farm hand Olympics will start at 5 pm along with other games that will coincide with a “family night.”
Free bean and watermelon feed will go off later on Friday from 5 pm – 7 pm with pedal tractor pull ending the night at 7 pm. Saturday’s slate is exclusively livestock show’s which includes junior swine, junior sheep, junior goats, and junior beef. There will also be a OHCE silent auction before the events wrap up Sunday with a horse show.
All ages are invited to attend this four-day community event in Nowata at the Fairgrounds, which are located at 612 E Roxy.
