South Coffeyville Woman Dies Following Deer Collision

A South Coffeyville woman has died after a tragic accident in Nowata County on Sunday.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, at approximately 7:25 p.m. Sunday, a 2016 Jeep Renegade driven by 48-year-old Natalie Kelley of Owasso struck a deer on U.S. Highway 169, 5 miles north of Lenapah. The deer was projected through the windshield of a 2019 Chevy Blazer, driven by 72-year-old Carolyn Howard of South Coffeyville.

OHP says the deer went through the entire vehicle and exited through the rear window. Howard was pronounced deceased from the injuries sustained at the scene by Nowata EMS.

The Nowata County Sheriff’s Office and Lenapah Fire Department also responded to the scene.
