On Wednesday afternoon, a nationwide emergency alert is being conducted on all radios, televisions and cell phones.

A test of the federal emergency alert system will be conducted at 1:20 p.m. central standard time and most Americans with wireless phones will receive an emergency alert message, as will those listening to the radio and television.

Wednesday will be the seventh nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System and this is the third such test being conducted for wireless alerts, the second being transmitted to all cell phones across the country.
