Another Monday means another Patriot Family of Autos Athlete of the Week, and this week we have a football star from Wesleyan Christian School.

Mustang starting quarterback Tyrel Cloud has just returned from injury and has led WCS toward the top of the Class C District 3 standings.

Cloud has been a four-year starting quarterback at WCS, playing the position since just a few games into his high school career. Cloud, Kael Siemers and Carson Tennison are three of the anchor seniors for a rejuvenated Mustang football program.

Tyrel’s dad, Curt Cloud, has been a longtime WCS head football coach. He is in his second stint of being Wesleyan head coach. Tyrel talks about what it is like to have his dad also as his head football coach.

Just before the season Cloud suffered an injury to his non-throwing hand. It caused him to miss the first four games of the year. He returned with a bang. Tyrel had 411 total yards of offense and six touchdowns in his return against Copan in Week 5.

He talks about what it was like coming back from injury.

Heading into this past weekend Cloud had compiled more than 6,600 yards of offense and 135 touchdowns in his illustrious career at QB.

Cloud talks about his fellow seniors and his relationship with them.

WCS lost a crucial game to Wilson last weekend, but still controls its own destiny for a first-round home playoff game.

Mustangs are 4-3 overall and 3-1in District play. Wesleyan Christian, and Cloud, will host South Coffeyville on Friday.
