OKM on COMMUNITY CONNECTION

Tom Davis
The community spirit is alive and well in Bartlesville as OKM Music gears up for a week of fun-filled events, kicking off with the much-anticipated OKM Mozart music festival. Appearing on Community Connection, Mary Lynn Mihm from OKM and Lucas Nettles from Revo Financial shared exciting details about what families can expect this year.
This year’s OKM Especially for Kids begins with the Keyboard Orchestra Concert at First Presbyterian, followed by the popular hoop dance event at Sunfest sponsored by Chevron Phillips. Every child attending will receive their own hoop, and the experience introduces kids to the joy of dance and local culture.
"We want as many kids to come as possible, but please sign up in advance so we have enough hoops," said Mary Lynn. She added, "Please RSVP at OKMmusic.org."
Throughout the week, attendees can enjoy art immersion sessions, puppet shows, storytimes, and musical instruction in violin and ukulele — with every child receiving an instrument to take home. The week wraps up with the vibrant Troll Jam celebration on the Tower Green, complete with games, dancing, a live DJ, and plenty of ice cream and prizes.
Revo Financial is also sponsoring a special kids’ passport program, where children can collect stamps at each event for a chance to win prizes.
"Community partnerships like this make it all possible," said Nettles. "We encourage local businesses to volunteer, share their message, and join in the fun."
