Dispute Over Who Owns Swinging Bridge

A former Osage County Commissioner disputes that both the county and city own the swinging bridge in Pawhuska. Former District One Commissioner, Randall Jones says the City of Pawhuska owns that bridge, as it connects two city streets. He also points to adverse possession, as the city has maintained the bridge for several years and state law says by maintaining something in the public square means you own that.
Jones goes on to talk about how when he was in office, he did everything he could to fix the swinging bridge.
Jones says he took this application to the City of Pawhuska, but it went nowhere.
Because they only had a week to fill out the grant, they said they would apply for it next year, but Jones informed them those funds wouldn't be available next year. They still told Jones they didn't have time to fill out the paperwork. Jones says he hasn't approached current City Manager Jerry Eubanks about finding a way to fix the bridge, adding he tried to help the city in the past and they are hard to help.
