Peaceful, Progressive Protest 'No Kings' Held in Downtown Bartlesville

Nathan Thompson
A few hundred progressive protesters gathered at Unity Square in downtown Bartlesville Saturday afternoon for a peaceful rally against what organizers say is a rise in authoritarianism in the United States.
The Bartlesville protest was part of a nationwide movement called "No Kings," which coinsided with Flag Day, President Donald Trump's birthday and a large military parade in Washington D.C.
Keegan Waters is with Bartlesville Alliance and a nationwide coalition called Indivisible. Waters talks about the mission of the protest.
Waters says additional progressive groups like the Washington County Democrats and Bartlesville Accepting Community Coalition assisted in the planning of Saturday's event.
After several speakers addressed the crowd, the protesters lined the sidewalk along Adams Boulevard in downtown Bartlesville for just over a block. The group displayed signs with different messages and multiple American Flags flying.
There was no organized counter-protest observed by Bartlesville Radio to the "No Kings" rally downtown.
