4th of July Pet Safety: Tip and Tricks

The Fourth of July is around the corner, and while you and your family may be celebrating, your pets could be scared, alone, and on the streets!
The washington County SPCA has a few tips and tricks to help pet owners make sure that all is well before and during the celebration season, including a partnership with PetCo on an app called Love Lost.
Along with signing up your pets for Love Lost, pet ownders are advised to do the following:
- Keep your pets secure
- Check your home for escape pathways
- Ensure your pets ID tags and microchip information are up to date
- Remind house guests where your pets are located in your home before opening and closing doors
- Register your pet for Love Lost
Pet owners are advised to stay alert before and after the holiday.
