OKM Music interns Jocelle Dobson, Madalin Childs, and Jacob Duhon joined KWON Radio’s Community Connection to share their experiences from the 2025 OKM Music Festival and preview upcoming events for the organization.

The interns described the festival as a resounding success, with world-class musicians performing on the main stage and showcase series alongside talented youth and local artists.

Jacob highlighted the Kids Festival, where hundreds of children participated in puppet shows, art activities, instrument workshops, and more. “Seeing the kids smile was priceless,” he said.

Madalin shared her dual role as both a behind-the-scenes assistant and a performer, even donning the role of Elsa for young attendees. Giselle, a violinist and vocalist, emphasized the excitement of meeting internationally acclaimed musicians and learning from them.

Looking ahead, the trio previewed several major OKM events:

Oktoberfest returns October 4 with music, food, dancing, and games. Tickets go on sale August 4.

Christkindl Market, set for Woolaroc in conjunction with its Festival of Lights, will offer handmade goods, live music, and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Tickets available September 28.

Giving Tuesday on December 2 features jazz artist Grady Nichols in a holiday concert.

St. Nicholas Day on December 6 will include family-friendly activities, sweet treats, and story time.

They also reminded families of the Thomasin and John Mallet Music Scholarship, which provides $1,000 awards for young musicians ages 4–18.
