Convicted Felon Expected to Resign as Pawhuska Interim City Manager

Embattled Pawhuska Interim City Manager and convicted felon Jerry Eubanks is expected to resign at Tuesday evening's city council meeting.
 
According to an agenda, the city council will convene in an executive session before taking action on accepting Eubanks' resignation and have two discussions and possible action on hiring a new interim city manager and utility superintendent
.
Eubanks was first named interim city manager in November 2023 after previously serving as city manager for five months in 2022.
 
Eubanks is a convicted felon, after pleading no contest to three charges of embezzlement, obtaining property by trick or deception, and conspiracy in Kay County. He made the plea in December 2024 and is serving a five-year suspended sentence.
 
The case dates back to 2022 working for the city of Blackwell. Eubanks also has a pending felony embezzlement case in Major County. His next court date in that case is July 21.
 
Tuesday's City Council meeting in Pawhuska begins at 5:30 p.m. and will be held at the Dave Landrum Community Center.
