BPD Responds to Shooting on Woodland Rd.

The Bartlesville Police Department responded to a possible shooting in the 3700 block of Woodland Rd. on Monday afternoon.
According to the Bartlesville Police Department, officers responded at approximately 4:50 p.m. to an adult male suffering from a single gunshot wound to the leg. Officers immediately provided aid and a tourniquet to the injured individual. Bartlesville emergency services transported the individual to a Tulsa hospital. The individual is expected to make a full recovery.
Investigators have determined that the incident began when two vehicles arrived at a Bartlesville church. After a brief verbal altercation, the suspect fired a shot at the victim in the parking lot, striking them in the leg. Bartlesville authorities utilized the Flock Camera System and observed the suspect’s vehicle leaving the city following the incident.
The suspect is a tribal member.
Deputy Chief Troy Newell said, “This incident appears to be targeted and isolated, stemming from a known dispute between the individuals involved…We want to reassure the community that there is no ongoing threat to the public, and our investigators are working diligently with our federal partners to hold the suspect accountable."
