The Bartlesville girls basketball team saw its two-game winning streak come to an end on Tuesday night at Bruin Fieldhouse, losing to Owasso 53-41. 

The loss sends BHS to the third place game in the Lady Bruin Holiday Classic on Wednesday afternoon at 1:00. 

Bartlesville (2-2) kept the game close early with good defense, but poor shooting. Owasso only led 10-5 at the end of the first quarter. Offensive rebounds for the Lady Rams was also a problem for BHS. 

Bartlesville had cut the Owasso lead to to 4, at 20-16, with just seconds before halftime, but one of many offensive rebounds for the Lady Rams led to a Riley Vancuren three-pointer. That gave Owasso a 23-16 lead at halftime, and the Lady Rams never looked back. 

Bartlesville kept the lead at single digits for a good part of the third and fourth quarters before Owasso pulled away in the end. Michalla O'Connell, Rachel Skalnik, Mya Bhinhar and Vancuren all had threes for Owasso. 

Another hit for the Lady Bruins game early, as Lauryn Washington went down with a right leg injury in the first quarter. Washington had just made the first field goal of the game for BHS when she had to exit the game. She did not return. 

Owasso (5-3) will play in the championship game of the tournament on Wednesday at 2:30 against Collinsville. 

Bartlesville now moves on to play in the third-place game of its own Bruin Holiday Classic, at 1pm on Wednesday afternoon against Classen SAS, the Comets lost to Collinsville 67-51 in the night-cap of the winners bracket. It was Classen's first loss all season, the Comets are 10-1, and are the No. 12 team in 4A. 

Head coach Terry Rodgers says he thinks his girls can play better on Wednesday against the Comets. You can hear the broadcast of that game on KPGM Sports Talk 1500 AM, with pregame starting around 12:45.
