Adair Murder Preliminary Hearing
The suspect in a double murder was in Washington County Special Judge John Gerkin's courtroom on Monday for a preliminary hearing. Steven Lee Adair is facing two counts of first degree murder in the deaths of his wife, 41-year-old Crystal Lee Adair and 23-year-old Charles Edward Lee last September. Bartlesville patrol officers Daryl Sweet and Cheyenne Lee took the stand to give the details of what happened that night. Adair's lawyer, John Kane argued that Adair was not read his rights. After further questioning by both the Prosecuting attorney and the Defense attorney, both rested their case.
The attorney for the defense, John Kane, requested time for Adair to undergo a psychological exam. Judge Gerwin allowed time for that. The next court date is set for March 4th. Adair's bond is one million dollars.
