Bartlesville Schools Provide Recognition

The Bartlesville School Administration observed January as Board of Education Recognition Month Monday night. Superintendent, Dr. Gary Quinn had certificates ready to present to members of the board. Prior to the business portion of the the meeting, school building principals took time to honor the Teacher of the Year nominees from their site. Superintendent, Dr. Gary Quinn says this is the first step in the process of selecting Bartlesville's Teacher of the Year.
Nominees include primary reading teacher at Hoover Elementary, Lori Eads; instructional coach at Jane Phillips Elementary, Karla L. Cunningham; Kane Elementary third grade teacher, Janice Wesson; Ranch Heights reading teacher, Stacey Goodwin; Wayside Elementary Library Media Specialist, Kathryn Hixon; Special Education teacher at Wilson Elementary, Barbara Toulouse; vocal music teacher at Central Middle School, Ariel Ortega; U. S. History teacher at Madison Middle School, Marsh Boomer; Mid-High Math teacher, Cheron Southwick; High School Social Studies teacher, Lyndsey Stuart; and English Language Coordinator, at the Will Rogers Center, Angela Linthacum.
Each principal also presented the rising star teacher from their school site. Rising Star nominees are teachers who have been in the profession for less than 5 years and have shown exemplary characteristics.
