Oklahoma Department of Transportation crews in northcentral, northeastern and western Oklahoma are reporting slick spots on bridges and some roadways as light rain and mist has been reported in some areas.  Crews in these areas are out treating roadways and bridges and applying sand and salt to slick spots. Additionally, crews in south central and eastern Oklahoma are continuing to monitor road conditions as crews are preparing equipment and materials in anticipation of winter precipitation overnight.

Motorists are advised to remain aware of changing conditions overnight and into the morning as black ice and slick spots are anticipated due to low temperatures.

Drivers should be aware of slick spots statewide, particularly on highway bridges, overpasses and highway exit/entrance ramps. They should allow extra space between vehicles, so there is adequate distance for braking in wet and icy conditions.

If drivers travel out of state, they are urged to check area road conditions before heading out.
